Website Basics
Creating a website
Setting up a new site, its name and address, and the base paths that shape its structure.
Last updated September 2, 2026
Most organisations run one website. A second is worth creating when a genuinely different brand or market needs its own — not to give one tribe a variation, which local pages already handle.
The basics
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Website name | How you recognise it in Gorilla Dash. |
| Website URL | Where it lives. |
| Business name | What appears as the business on the site. |
Base paths
Base paths decide the shape of the addresses for the parts of the site generated from your data — products, categories, ranges and tribes. They set what sits in front of each one, so a product page reads the way you want it to.
Connecting tribes
A website serves the tribes connected to it. Connect them all, or pick the ones this site covers — see the connected tribes guide.
