Building a form
The form builder: questions, question types, and the settings that decide what happens after somebody submits.

Forms are the general-purpose question tool: a survey, a registration, a feedback request, a booking request. They have their own public link and their own responses.
Question types

| Short answer | A name, a reference, a postcode. |
| Paragraph | Anything they need room for. |
| Choose one / choose many | Options you set. |
| Yes / no | A simple decision or a consent. |
| Number and rating | Quantities, scores, a highest rating you choose. |
| Net promoter score | The standard would-you-recommend question. |
| File upload | Documents or photos, with the file types you allow. |
| Name, email, phone | Identity fields — see below. |
Each question can be marked required and given helper text. Helper text is where you prevent the answer you do not want.
After they submit
Show a thank you message, or redirect them to a page of your own. Redirecting is useful when the form is a step in something larger; the message is better when it needs to say what happens next.
Keep it short
EVERY QUESTION COSTS RESPONSES
Completion falls with each one added, and it falls fastest on a phone. Ask what you will act on and nothing else — the questions you leave out are what get the rest answered.
