The form builder: questions, question types, and the settings that decide what happens after somebody submits.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Forms are the general-purpose question tool: a survey, a registration, a feedback request, a booking request. They have their own public link and their own responses.

Question types

TypeFor
Short answerA name, a reference, a postcode.
ParagraphAnything they need room for.
Choose one / choose manyOptions you set.
Yes / noA simple decision or a consent.
Number and ratingQuantities, scores, a highest rating you choose.
Net promoter scoreThe standard would-you-recommend question.
File uploadDocuments or photos, with the file types you allow.
Name, email, phoneIdentity fields — see below.

Each question can be marked required and given helper text. Helper text is where you prevent the answer you do not want.

After they submit

Show a thank you message, or redirect them to a page of your own. Redirecting is useful when the form is a step in something larger; the message is better when it needs to say what happens next.

Keep it short

EVERY QUESTION COSTS RESPONSES
Completion falls with each one added, and it falls fastest on a phone. Ask what you will act on and nothing else — the questions you leave out are what get the rest answered.
