Logging calls, notes and meetings
How the activity timeline works on candidates and deals, what the system records for you, and how to log the rest.
Last updated September 7, 2026
Every candidate and every deal has an Activity card. It is the record of what happened: the things you log by hand and the things Gorilla Dash writes automatically. If it is not on the timeline, it did not happen as far as the next person to pick up the file is concerned.
Logging something
- At the top of the Activity card choose Note, Call or Meeting.
- Type what happened. Keep it to what the next person needs: what was said, what was agreed, what comes next.
- Click Log, or press Ctrl and Enter (Command and Enter on a Mac). The entry appears at the top of the timeline with your name and the time.
What is recorded for you
- Candidate created, and each deal opened.
- Every stage move, from which stage to which, and any gate override with the manager's reason.
- Each task completed, with its outcome.
- Later releases add documents received, disclosures issued and portal logins to the same timeline.
Deal timeline versus profile timeline
An entry logged on a deal page is tied to that deal. An entry logged on the profile is tied to the person. The deal page shows both — anything logged on any participant of the deal — while the profile shows everything for that person across all their deals. Log on the deal when the conversation was about that specific sale.
