Working through the reasons a sign-in fails, in the order most likely to be the answer.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Almost every "I am locked out" turns out to be one of a handful of things. Work down this list before asking anyone for help — it is usually quicker.

What you seeWhat it usually isWhat to do
Incorrect email or passwordThe other email address, or an old saved password.Try your other address, then reset the password.
Too many login attemptsA short pause after repeated failures.Wait a moment, then reset rather than guess again.
The reset email never arrivesJunk folder, or an address with no account.Check junk, then confirm the address with an administrator.
Your code is not acceptedThe phone clock has drifted.Turn on automatic time, or use a recovery code.
You are asked to set up two factor authenticationYour organisation now requires it.Set it up — there is no way past it.
Signed in, but nothing is thereNot an access problem at all.See below.

Signed in but the screens are empty

This is not a login problem — you are in. It means your account has not been given access to anything yet, or has been removed from the tribes it used to be in. An administrator at your organisation fixes that in a minute.

An invitation that was never accepted

AN INVITED ACCOUNT IS NOT A LIVE ACCOUNT
Someone who was invited and never opened the email has no password, so nothing they type will work and a reset may not reach them either. The fix is to send the invitation again, not to keep resetting.

When to ask for help

If you have reset your password, checked your junk folder and confirmed the address, contact your own administrator first — they can see your account, resend an invitation, and send you a reset directly.
