CRM Daily Work
Logging a call, email or meeting
Recording a conversation that happened outside Gorilla Dash, and why logging is what makes the rest of the CRM tell the truth.
Last updated September 2, 2026
Some contact records itself — tracked calls, enquiries, email from a connected mailbox. The rest does not: the conversation in the car park, the call from a mobile, the meeting at their premises. Log a communication is how those get into the record.
Logging one
- Open the contact and choose Log a communication.
- Pick the type — the list is set up by your organisation and usually covers calls, emails, meetings and site visits.
- Set the date and, where it matters, the duration.
- Write what was actually said. This is the bit your colleague will read next month.
What logging feeds
| Feeds | How |
|---|---|
| Last contacted | A logged communication counts as a real touch. |
| The Activity Report | It is how the report knows work is being done. |
| The account roll-up | It appears on the company's communications, not just the contact's. |
A NOTE IS NOT A LOG
Keeping it quick
Logging has to take seconds or it will not happen. Keep the type list short, log the fact immediately, and add detail only where the next person will need it.
