Managing Tribes

Seeing what changed on a tribe

The change log and the access history — who altered what, and when.

Last updated September 2, 2026

When a tribe's phone number is wrong on the website, or its hours changed without anybody asking, the Change Log tells you who did it.

Where to find it

It is a menu item on the tribe, available to organisation administrators. A tribe cannot see its own log, which is deliberate — it is there to answer questions about the tribe, not for the tribe.

The access change log

Separately, Tribe Settings has a View Access Change Log panel showing every change between Full and Restricted access, with the date and the person who made it. Because access level drives the monthly charge, that panel is the record to check when a bill is queried.

What it is good for

  • A public detail changed and nobody will say who.
  • Confirming a tribe really did update its hours when it says it did.
  • Settling a billing question about when a tribe went to Full Access.
  • Working out whether a reporting oddity lines up with somebody changing a setting.

What it will not tell you

It records changes to the tribe itself. It is not an audit of everything that happened at that tribe — customers, sales, campaigns and enquiries each keep their own history in their own modules.

Before you go looking

Check whether the field is one a tribe is even allowed to edit. If your field settings have it locked to administrators, the change came from head office — and the log will confirm which.
