Choosing a transcription model and an AI review model, teaching the transcriber your product names, tidying transcripts automatically, and the website number switch.

Last updated September 16, 2026

Select Calls in the left-hand menu, then Call Settings. These settings apply to your whole organisation, not to one tribe, and they take effect on calls transcribed and reviewed after you save. Calls already processed are not redone.

Every setting on the screen has a platform default, and an organisation that has never opened this screen is running on those defaults quite happily. You only need to come here if the transcripts are getting something wrong, or if you want to change what the AI review costs.

Transcription

The Transcription Model turns the recording into words. Three are available, and they are genuinely different rather than simply better and worse — the two features that matter most are split across them.

ModelSeparates the speakersTakes your keyword list
Whisper v3 Large (Lemonfox)YesNo
GPT Transcribe (OpenAI)NoYes
GPT-4o Transcribe Diarize (OpenAI)YesNo

Separating the speakers means the transcript says who said what, rather than running the whole conversation together. That is what makes a transcript readable for coaching, so most networks want it. Taking the keyword list means the transcriber is told your product names in advance and stops mishearing them, which matters most if your business uses vocabulary the model has never met.

Whisper v3 Large is the default and is the sensible starting point. Move to GPT Transcribe only if specific words are being mangled call after call and you would rather have them right than know who was speaking.

THE KEYWORDS ARE NEVER ENTIRELY WASTED
A model that cannot take the keyword list still receives the same terms folded into its free-text prompt. That is a weaker hint than a real keyword list, but it is not nothing, so it is still worth filling the vocabulary in whichever model you choose.

Teaching it your vocabulary

Business and Product Vocabulary is a list of the words a transcriber would not otherwise know: brand names, product ranges, the names of your tribes, industry jargon. Add the spellings you want to see, and keep the list to terms that genuinely come up on calls — a long list of rarely used words makes the hint weaker, not stronger.

Call Context is a short free-text description of what your business does and what customers ring about. A sentence or two is enough. It gives the transcriber the setting, which helps most with words that are ambiguous out of context.

Automatically clean transcripts with AI tidies the raw transcript before anybody reads it, removing the false starts and filler that make a verbatim transcript hard going. It is on by default. Turn it off if you need the transcript exactly as spoken.

AI Call Review

The Review Model reads the finished transcript and answers the questions about it — what the call was about, how it ended, how the caller sounded, and your own call review questions. Four models are offered, each with its cost band shown beside it.

ModelRelative cost
GPT-4o miniLowest
GPT-5Standard (the default)
GPT-4oHigh
GPT-5.4Highest
The review model is billed to your organisation
AI call review consumes AI tokens, which appear on your bill. On a network handling thousands of calls a month the difference between the lowest and highest bands is real money. Start on the default, and only move up if you can point to reviews that are getting things wrong. The guide on AI tokens explains how this is charged.

Website Number Swapping

Allow phone number swapping on websites is the master switch that lets a Gorilla Dash website show a tracking number in place of a tribe's own published number. It is on by default.

It is a master switch rather than the whole control: each tribe also has its own switch, on its Telephone Settings, and both have to be on before that tribe's website pages will swap a number. Turning this one off stops swapping across the entire organisation at once, whatever the individual tribes are set to, which makes it the right thing to reach for if something has gone wrong and you need everything back to the real numbers immediately.

When the master switch is off, the switch on each tribe is shown but cannot be changed, so nobody can turn swapping back on for one tribe without your knowing.
