Metered usage and who pays for it
Reading the usage screen, the four charge arrangements, and the discount for organisation-wide payment.

The Metered Usage screen shows everything charged by consumption, what each costs, and who is paying. It has a Settings tab for the arrangements and a Usage tab for the numbers.
What gets metered
Filter by AI, Add-ons, Commerce, Marketing and External Services. Between them: text and picture messages, phone number rental, email sends above your allowance, AI, store orders, branded stores, review syncing and the CRM contact lookups.
Each row shows this month, last month, anything included free, and the rate — and expands to show which tribes used it.
Select History on a row to see the changes to that item's rate, newest first: what changed, the old and new value, who changed it and when. On the organisation's page it lists the organisation's own rate and the Gorilla Dash default. A tribe's own rate is in the History on that tribe's Metered Usage page, which also lists the organisation's and the default changes, because those are the rates the tribe falls back on.
Who pays

Allowances pool when the organisation pays
Some items include a free allowance per tribe. Under Organisation pays for all tribes those allowances are pooled across the network instead of being held per tribe — so a busy tribe can use a quiet one's headroom.
When your subscription already covers it
A subscription package can include a set amount of a metered item each month, or an unlimited amount, for everybody on that package. Where your package does this, you are not charged for the usage it covers, and the screens that would normally warn you about an extra charge say the subscription is paying for it instead.
The invoice still shows the usage. You will see the item at its full price and, beneath it, an offsetting Included in your subscription line cancelling it out. That is deliberate: it means you can see what you actually used as well as what your package covered, rather than the usage disappearing and leaving you unable to tell whether you are close to outgrowing the package.
Anything above what the package includes is charged at the usual rate on the same invoice. If you are not sure what your package covers, ask your Gorilla Dash contact — the inclusion is set on the package itself and is not something you can change from your own screens.
Changing who pays
Anyone whose role can see this screen can change who pays for an item. Because the change moves real cost, the screen asks you to confirm it first:
- On the Settings tab, find the item and open the list on the right of its row that shows who currently pays.
- Choose the new arrangement. A confirmation names the item and says what the change does to your bill. Nothing is saved yet.
- Read it, then select the button that names the change (for example Switch to each tribe pays), or Cancel to leave the item as it was.
Some add-ons can also be set to Disabled. That turns the feature off for every tribe from the 1st of the next month. Until then your tribes keep what they already had, but none of them can switch it on for itself from the moment you disable it. From the 1st they can no longer use it and are told to contact their brand support desk. Usage already recorded stays on the screen. Each month's usage is billed on the 3rd of the following month: the month in which the item was disabled is charged as usual, a later month is not charged if the item is still disabled when its bill is worked out, and if the item has been switched back on by then, that whole month's usage is charged. Choosing another arrangement turns it back on.
A tribe's own monthly package is not billed for a month in which every item it covers is either paid for by the organisation for all tribes or disabled, whether or not the tribe used any of it that month, because there is nothing left for the package to pay for. For AI Full Access the item that decides is AI Tokens, because every AI feature is counted in AI tokens; for Agentic CRM it is whether Agentic CRM is disabled, by you or by Gorilla Dash for the whole organisation. Paying for all tribes counts if it is in place when the bill is worked out on the 3rd. Disabling counts for a month only if it was done before that month began and is still in place when the bill is worked out: the tribe keeps the feature to the end of the month it was disabled in, so that month's package is billed in full. The tribe keeps the package throughout, and it is billed again for any month whose bill finds one of those items back on Each tribe pays for its own usage (for Agentic CRM, back on Tribes take the package themselves and not switched off by Gorilla Dash).
The numbers are live
Usage is counted as it happens, and the screen, the export and the eventual charge all use the same figures. The exceptions are the monthly items — number rental and store fees are recorded on the 1st, and email sends settle on the 2nd.
Exporting
On the Usage tab, choose a date range, then select Export CSV to download a spreadsheet of item, category, units and estimated cost for that range. The category, tribe and search filters narrow only what the screen shows; the export always includes every item for the range. Costs shown are estimates at current rates and exclude tax.
