Booking a callback or a meeting

Where to book from, where it then shows up, and the difference between a callback and a task.

Every good call ends with the next one booked. There are three places to do it and they all end up in the same view.

Book fromWhen
The contact or companyYou are already looking at the record.
The call screenYou are working a call list and just finished a call.
The calendarYou are planning a day or a week.

Where it turns up

  • On the CRM calendar.
  • In Calls Due Today and Calls This Week on the dashboard.
  • On the contact's profile, as part of their history.
  • In the call list's follow-ups, when it was booked from a call.

Callback or task?

Book a callback when you have agreed a time with the customer — they are expecting you. Create a task when it is your own work: send the quote, chase the drawings, check with the supplier. The dashboard counts them separately for exactly that reason.

BOOK IT WHILE THEY ARE STILL ON THE PHONE
A callback agreed and entered during the call gets kept. One you mean to enter after lunch competes with everything else that happened after lunch.
