The Vendor Profile
Building a profile from your website
Letting Gorilla Dash read your website to fill in the profile, what the stages mean, and what to check afterwards.

Filling in a profile from scratch is the reason most vendor listings stay half-built. A website import reads your site and produces the profile content for you — a starting point rather than a finished listing.
What happens
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Queued, not started. |
| Crawling | Reading your website. |
| Extracting | Working out what is on it. |
| Importing | Writing it into your profile. |
| Completed | Done — go and check it. |
| Failed | Something stopped it. Usually the website address, or a site that blocks crawlers. |
It runs in the background, so you can leave the page.
Always review what it produced
Manual and imported content
Content is marked as having come from your website or from being entered by hand, so you can tell which is which. Anything you edit by hand is yours — the import is a head start, not an ongoing sync.
If it fails
- Check the website address is complete and correct.
- Some sites block automated readers — if yours does, the profile has to be written by hand.
- A site built entirely in a single page application may have very little for it to read.
