Creating what the store sells: the fields, the images, and the codes that connect an order to your production.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Products are what buyers actually see. Get the name, the picture and the description right and most questions never reach you.

FieldNotes
Product nameWhat the buyer calls it, not your internal description.
SlugThe product in a web address. Leave it alone unless you have a reason.
DescriptionFabric, fit, sizing, turnaround — the answers to the questions you get asked.
ImagesA main image, plus gallery images. Show the actual branded item where you can.
CategoryWhere it appears in the store.
Product code and external IDHow this line ties back to your own production or supplier system.
Minimum quantityWhere an item cannot be made as a single.

Photograph the real thing

A supplier's blank garment photo tells the buyer nothing about how their logo will look on it. One photo of the actual branded item removes most of the doubt, and most of the emails asking what it looks like.

Codes are for you, not the buyer

Product codes and external IDs travel with the order, so what arrives in production can be matched to a garment and a supplier without anyone translating it. Set them as you build the store — retrofitting codes across sixty products is a miserable afternoon.

SAY WHEN IT WILL ARRIVE
Branded goods are made, not picked off a shelf. If a jacket takes three weeks, the description should say so — a buyer who expects next-day delivery will chase you on day two, and every one of those is a support conversation you could have avoided.
