The create screen field by field: naming the post, choosing platforms, writing the content and saving a draft.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Open Social Media Posts and choose to create one. The screen is in three parts: what the post is, which platforms it goes to, and what it says on each of them.

FieldWhat to put in it
Post NameFor you, not the public. It is how you will find this post in the list next month.
PlatformsThe channels to publish to. Only connected ones can be selected.
Post TypeWhat kind of post it is, where the platform offers more than one.
ContentThe words, per channel.
Post Link URLThe link you want people to click.

Writing the content

The editor supports the things social posts need — mentions, emoji, and the formatting each platform allows. Type @ to mention a page where the platform supports it.

Save a draft

Save Draft keeps the post without scheduling it. A draft publishes to nobody until you schedule or post it — which makes it the right way to leave something half-written, and the reason a post you thought was going out never did.

NAME POSTS PROPERLY
"Spring offer — week 2" is findable. "Post" and "Post copy" are how a library becomes unusable by March.
