Compliance For Tribes

Closing actions and answering requests

The corrective actions and information requests your franchisor raises against your tribe, how to start and complete one, attaching proof, and why Done is not the end.

Last updated September 16, 2026

An action is something your franchisor is waiting on from your tribe. There are two kinds. A corrective action is something to fix — cracked signage, a missing food safety log — and most of them are raised automatically when an item fails on a visit or on one of your own checks. An information request is something to send — a staff roster, a supplier invoice, a certificate.

Open ones appear in your To do and on the Actions page in the Compliance menu, which also lets you filter by status or type and see what has been closed. Each row shows its severity, its due date in red when it is overdue, and a link back to the visit or check it came from, so the photograph of the problem is one click away.

DONE IS YOUR CLAIM, VERIFIED IS THEIR CONFIRMATION
Marking an action Done does not take it off the open count. It tells your advisor the work is finished; they verify it, often at the next visit, and only then is it closed. That is why the proof you attach matters — good evidence gets an action verified without waiting for somebody to come and look.

Moving one along

  1. On the Actions page, or under an action on a report, select the status chip on the row. A small menu offers the states you can move it to.
  2. Choose In progress when you have started, if the work will take a while. This is optional.
  3. Choose Done when it is finished. A dialog opens.
  4. Write what was done — or, for an information request, your reply — in the box.
  5. Press the Photos or files field to attach photographs of the fix, or the file that was asked for. You can attach more than one.
  6. Press Mark done.

Your reply and your files sit on the action where your advisor reads them. Once an action is Done you cannot move it again from the tribe, so put everything your advisor needs in the reply before you press Mark done. If something still needs saying afterwards, use the Notes under the visit or check the action came from, where your advisor will see it.

VERIFIED AND CANCELLED ARE CLOSED
You cannot reopen an action your franchisor has verified or cancelled, and you cannot attach anything more to it. If it was closed in error, ask your advisor to reopen it — reopening clears the completion stamp so the history stays honest.

Severity and due dates

Every action carries a severity — Critical, High, Medium or Low — and usually a due date. Critical means a safety or legal exposure and is meant to be fixed the same day; Low is a tidy-up when convenient. An overdue action shows its date in red and is counted on your To do, so work the list from the top.

If an action is unclear, or you think it was raised in error, say so in the Notes under the visit or check it came from rather than leaving it open, or mark it Done with a reply explaining why. Your advisor sees everything you write and can cancel or reword the action.
