Opening hours on your listings
Keeping published hours accurate, handling holidays, and why this is the detail customers punish most.

Opening hours are the single most-read piece of information on a local listing. They are also the one customers judge you hardest on: arriving at a closed door because the listing said open is the sort of thing that produces a one-star review.
Setting them
Set the hours on each tribe's business information. They are per tribe, because they genuinely differ — a network cannot publish one set of hours for everybody.
Publish hours you will keep
- If you close early on quiet afternoons, publish the early time.
- If the phone is answered later than the door is open, that is a different thing — say so in the description rather than stretching the hours.
- Do not publish hours that depend on someone being available. Publish the ones you can always meet.
Holidays
A habit worth having
Check the hours on every tribe once a quarter, and always after a tribe changes its pattern. Nobody reports incorrect opening hours to head office — they just go somewhere else.
