When to let tribes change the wording, when to lock it, and how to brief them either way.

Tribe editable decides whether a tribe can change the post they received before it goes out from their pages.

When to allow it

Let them editLock it
Anything that needs local detail — an address, an opening time, a local offer.Legal or regulated wording.
Posts where a local voice performs better than a corporate one.Brand launches where consistency is the point.
Content going to tribes that are good at social.Anything with pricing or terms that must not vary.

Brief them either way

Use the message to tribes to say which it is. "Add your own opening times, keep the offer wording exactly" is a useful instruction; a locked post with no explanation just makes tribes feel managed.

EDITABLE MEANS THEIR VERSION, NOT YOURS
Once a tribe has edited their copy, changes you make centrally do not overwrite it. If a correction has to reach everybody — a wrong date, a pulled offer — contact the tribes directly rather than assuming an edit at the top fixes it.

A middle path that works

Lock the offer and let them add a line. Most networks find that gets both the consistency head office wants and the local flavour that actually gets engagement.
