File Uploads
Receiving files from customers
The artwork inbox: how files arrive, who is told, and an important note about the download links.
Last updated September 2, 2026
File Uploads is an inbox. Customers send you artwork and documents through a form on your website, and the files appear here for whoever is doing the job.
It is read-only
Nobody creates or edits an upload in Gorilla Dash — they only arrive from the form. What you can do is read them, download the files and delete the whole submission.
What the customer has to provide
All of it: first and last name, email, business name, phone number, a comment and at least one file. There are no optional fields, which is worth knowing when a customer says the form will not submit.
What happens when files arrive
- A contact is created or matched from the details given.
- The files are stored, and only then is anybody notified.
- The customer is emailed Your files were successfully uploaded.
- Your team is emailed Files Uploaded, with the customer's details and a link to each file.
The team email goes to the tribe's notification address, falling back to the organisation's. A tribe with no notification address set means nobody there is told.
The download links are public
Unread uploads
New submissions are highlighted and counted with a badge in the menu. Opening one marks it read immediately, and there is no way to mark it unread again — so do not open them all to see what came in unless somebody is actually working through them.
Deleting
Delete Files removes the whole submission — contact details and every file — not one file. It is permanent, and the confirmation says so.
