Franchise Development Basics
Who can see Franchise Development
The three permissions, what each one allows, and how to grant them on an organisation role.
Last updated September 7, 2026
Franchise Development is gated by organisation permissions. Owners and Gorilla Dash staff have every permission automatically; everyone else needs one granted on their organisation role.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| View Franchise Development | Open the module, see the dashboard, deals, franchisees, tasks and activity, and read the stage catalogue. |
| Edit Franchise Development | Everything in View, plus add and edit candidates, open and edit deals, move deals between stages, log activity, add and complete tasks, and delete records. |
| Manage Franchise Development | Everything in Edit, plus Development Settings — pipeline stages and gates, lost reasons and module settings — and the right to override a stage gate with a recorded reason. |
Granting a permission
- Open your organisation and go to Team, then the role the person holds.
- Tick the Franchise Development permission that matches their job: View for people who only need to look, Edit for development managers, Manage for the head of development.
- Save. The change applies the next time they load the module.
WHO SHOULD HAVE MANAGE
Manage is the permission that can push a deal past an unmet gate. Keep it to the people who are accountable for compliance, not the whole sales team.
Tribes
There is no tribe-level access and no tribe permission. A user who only holds tribe roles cannot reach Franchise Development at all, which is by design.
