Passing a lead to someone else

Handing a lead to another rep or another list mid-campaign, and making sure the handover actually lands.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Calls turn up things you cannot deal with yourself: the wrong tribe, the wrong specialism, a customer who wants the person they dealt with last time. Transferring keeps the lead moving instead of parking it.

Passing it on

From the call screen, Send to another list hands the lead to a different campaign — moving it, or copying it if it belongs in both. To hand it to a person rather than a list, change who the contact is assigned to.

Make the handover real

  1. Log the call first, so the next person can read what was said.
  2. Move or reassign the lead.
  3. Book a task for whoever is picking it up — a lead moved with no task is a lead nobody has agreed to work.
  4. @mention them in a note if there is anything the record does not explain.
MOVING A LEAD NOTIFIES NOBODY BY ITSELF
A transferred lead does not announce itself. The task is the handover — without one it sits in another list quietly going cold, and both reps assume the other is on it.

Wrong tribe entirely

When a caller belongs to another one of your tribes, the contact itself needs to go to that tribe rather than just the lead — see sending a contact or company to another tribe.
