The organisation-wide setup: default roles, and which projects appear in the list.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Project settings hold what every project shares. There is not much of it, which is deliberate — most of a project's shape belongs to the project.

Default project roles

The roles available on every project — Project Manager, Designer, Developer, whatever your business uses. Add them here once and every new project starts with the right structure.

Set these up before people start creating projects. A project told there are no roles yet is a project where somebody invents their own naming, and you end up with four spellings of "Project Manager".

Which projects show in the list

A project can be shown or hidden in the project list. Hiding is for work that is finished or dormant — it stays intact and stops cluttering the view of what is actually in flight.

Keep the role list short

FIVE OR SIX IS PLENTY
Anything genuinely unusual can be a role on that one project. A default list of twenty means most projects show a page of empty roles, which teaches everyone to ignore the section.
