Adding Members
The welcome email and activation link
How a new member adds their payment details, why the link only works once, and how to reissue it.
Last updated October 14, 2026
When an Active membership is created, the member is emailed Welcome to {your organisation}. It asks them to finish enrolling and carries a Complete Enrollment link, with the package terms attached to the email.
What the member sees
The link opens a page carrying your organisation's logo, with no Gorilla Dash menu and no invitation to create an account. It starts with a summary of the package — Package Name, Start Date, End Date, Customer, Payment Schedule and Amount.
Below that, a list headed Your Memberships shows every membership the member currently holds, each with its status — Active, Pending or Paused — and marks the one this email is about. If you have renamed memberships in Membership Settings, the heading uses your word instead, such as Your Subscriptions.
They can Download Terms & Conditions, tick to accept, and add a card — or choose US bank debit (ACH) where the tribe's payment gateway offers it. Then Activate Subscription.
Once the subscription is active, the page tells them there is nothing else they need to do and that they can close it. If they connected a bank account that Stripe has to confirm with two small deposits, it asks them to finish that verification instead. When Customer Access is switched on and the member can sign in to your customer portal (they already have a login, or customers may register themselves), the page also shows a Sign in button, where they can see their payments and change how they pay.
The link is single use
Reissuing it
On the member's Packages tab, each row has Resend Email and Copy Link. Both mint a fresh link. Use Copy Link when you want to send it yourself — in a text message, or in a reply to an email they already sent you.
When no email arrives
- The membership was saved as Pending — press Start Membership.
- The membership came from an import, which deliberately suppresses the welcome email. Use Resend Email.
- The person has no email address on their contact record.
- It went to their spam or junk folder. Ask them to look there and mark it as not spam, so later emails reach their inbox.
