What sent, delivered and failed actually count, and when to worry.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Open a campaign to see Audience, Recipients, Delivered with a percentage, and Failed, then a row per recipient.

What each status means

StatusMeaning
PendingQueued, not yet attempted.
SentThe network accepted it. Not proof it arrived.
DeliveredThe network confirmed it reached the handset.
FailedRejected, or reported undeliverable.
Opted outExcluded because they had unsubscribed.
SkippedNot attempted — usually could not receive an image. Not charged.
THE SENT COUNT INCLUDES PEOPLE WHO OPTED OUT
Opted-out recipients are counted in the sent figure even though no message went to them. Judge a campaign on Delivered, not on sent. The recipients filter also has no "Opted out" option, so you have to look at All to find them.

A good delivery rate

Expect the high nineties. Anything much below that means bad numbers in your data, landlines saved as mobiles, or — in the United States — carrier filtering. A campaign showing plenty sent and almost none delivered is the classic signature of a registration or content problem, not a data problem.

When you are told about failures

Organisation administrators are emailed A text campaign could not be delivered only when the problem is systemic — nothing sent at all, or at least ten attempts with half or more failing. A campaign where a handful of numbers bounced stays silent, and you get one alert per campaign at most.

The dashboard

The SMS dashboard totals campaigns, sends, recipients and deliveries, and lists recent campaigns and your customer buckets with their people counts.

Per-number history

The Phone Numbers screen shows every mobile you hold with its message, delivered and failed counts and when it was last texted. Opening one gives you the contacts on that number, the campaigns it received, its full consent history, and its block log — which is where you go when somebody says they are getting messages they did not ask for.
