Project roles
Default roles reused on every project, roles for one project only, and putting people in them.

A role says what somebody is responsible for on a project — Project Manager, Designer, Developer, Client Contact. It answers the question every project eventually needs answered: who do I ask about this?
Default roles
Default roles are set up once in Project Settings and available on every project. Add the handful your business always uses, so a new project starts with the right shape instead of somebody inventing role names.
If a project tells you it has no roles yet, the default list is empty — add them in settings first.
A role for one project only
Some projects need something unusual — a translator, a compliance reviewer, a landlord. Create the role on that project alone rather than adding it to the defaults, and the shared list stays short.
Putting people in roles
- A role can hold more than one person.
- A person can hold more than one role — on a small project, often most of them.
- An empty role is useful information: it says the project is missing somebody.
