Sources & Tracking
Where enquiries came from
URL sources, parameters and the calculated source — how Gorilla Dash works out which marketing produced a lead.

Every enquiry carries a calculated source — Gorilla Dash's answer to "where did this come from?", worked out from how the visitor arrived.
URL sources and parameters
| Setting | What it is |
|---|---|
| URL parameters | The tracking parameters your links carry. |
| URL sources | The named sources those parameters map to. |
| Custom sources | Sources you define for channels that are not links at all. |
Set them up so the source names match how you actually talk about your marketing. A report full of raw parameter values is a report nobody reads.
Tag your links
Attribution only works if the links you publish carry the parameters. An untagged link produces an enquiry with no source, and no amount of configuration recovers it afterwards.
Updating existing enquiries
Sources can be recalculated across all enquiries after you change the setup. It takes a while on a large database and you are warned — run it once, after the configuration is right, rather than repeatedly.
