Field Operations Action Items
Action items: tracking something across every tribe
Ask a set of tribes to do or confirm something, then tick each one off with comments and see how far the network has got.

An action item is something every tribe in a group needs to do or confirm: confirming a Christmas stock order, putting up new signage, completing a training module. You create it once, and each tribe gets its own row that head office ticks off.
Creating one
- Select Action Items in the Field Operations sidebar, then New action item.
- Say what each tribe needs to do, and add instructions saying what counts as done.
- Set a due date, and the head office owner if it is not you.
- Under Which tribes?, choose every active tribe, the active tribes in some tribe groups, or tribes you pick.
- Select Create. Each tribe in the audience gets a row marked Not started.
Ticking tribes off
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not started | Nothing heard yet. |
| In progress | The tribe is working on it. |
| Done | Finished. Records who marked it and when. |
| Not needed | Does not apply to this tribe. Counts as finished. |
| Overdue | Shown alongside the status when the due date has passed and the row is not finished. |
- On the action item's page, select a tribe's status to change it.
- Select History to see every change and comment, and add a comment such as the order number.
- From My Day or a tribe's page, Mark done finishes a row in one click.
- Filter the tribes by status, search for one, or turn on My tribes to see only yours.
Changing the tribes later
Select Add tribes to include a tribe that opened since, or one that was missed; tribes already on it are skipped. The minus button takes a tribe off and deletes its status and comments, so you are asked to confirm first.
Closing or deleting
When you have finished chasing, use the three-dot menu and select Close. A closed action item keeps its record but drops off My Day and the tribes' pages. You can reopen it at any time. Delete removes it for every tribe, with their statuses and comments, and asks you to confirm.
