Mailing Lists
Creating a mailing list
How a mailing list is built from your contacts, creating one, and checking it before you send.
Last updated September 2, 2026
A mailing list is a saved set of rules for choosing recipients out of your contacts — not a spreadsheet of addresses. That is why a list stays current: add a customer today and they are in tomorrow's send.
Creating one
- Open Mailing Lists and choose Create Mailing List.
- Name it for who is in it, not for the campaign — "Customers, last 12 months" outlives "March newsletter".
- Set the filters that choose the people.
- Save, and check the recipient count.

Names that stay useful
Lists accumulate. A year in, "New list", "New list 2" and "Test" are unusable and nobody dares delete them. Name each one after the audience it selects, and the library stays worth having.
A list belongs to the organisation or to a tribe. A tribe's list covers that tribe's own contacts.
