Do social connections disconnect when a tribe admin is removed?
Removing a user from a tribe does not automatically disconnect the social accounts they connected. Social connections are tied to the user’s GD account and may remain active; we recommend refreshing them under the new admin.

Short answer
No. Removing the admin who originally connected your social accounts does not automatically disconnect those accounts.
Why
Social connections are created from the user’s GD account (My Account). Even if that user is removed from a tribe or organisation, their GD account still exists, so the connection can remain active.
Recommended action
- When a new admin comes onboard, refresh/reconnect the social connections under the new admin’s GD account (via My Account).
- This ensures the connection uses the correct social profile/permissions and that the new admin can manage and refresh the connection going forward.
Notes
- All platforms require periodic re-authorization; connections will eventually need to be refreshed regardless.
