Platform Mapping

Mapping ezCater or Toast products to your menu

Working through the platform's product list: pick the Gorilla Dash product for each, create one when nothing fits, and read the outbound column.

Last updated September 2, 2026

This is the screen to work through when you connect a platform: Food → Platform mapping, then the ezCater → Gorilla Dash side of the toggle (or Toast). Every product on the platform's menus is listed, and each needs a Gorilla Dash product beside it. The count at the top — "3 of 356 mapped" — is your progress.

The columns

ColumnWhat it shows
ezCater productsThe platform's name and price, and a reach chip — how many of your location menus carry it.
Map to Gorilla Dash productThe Gorilla Dash product it is mapped to, with its default price. An unlink icon removes the mapping.
Mapped to platform productsFor that Gorilla Dash product, everything it maps to on every platform — so you can see it already goes to Toast as "Bread Box", say.
StatusSee the overview for what each status means.

Mapping a product

  1. Click Map on the row (or Change if it is already mapped).
  2. The picker lists your Gorilla Dash products that look like a match, best first, each with its default price and how it was matched — exact name, similar name, partial name. Price matches flags a candidate whose price agrees with the platform's.
  3. If the right product is not suggested, type in the search box to reach every live Gorilla Dash product.
  4. Click Use this. The mapping is confirmed for every location at once, and the row updates.

Under each candidate, Mapped to lists what that Gorilla Dash product already maps to on each platform. Choosing a product that is already mapped to a different product on the same platform moves the mapping rather than adding a second one — the picker warns you before you click.

When nothing fits: create the menu item

At the bottom of the picker, Create this menu item in Gorilla Dash opens the normal Create Menu Item form, pre-filled with the platform product's name, price and a web address that is guaranteed not to clash with an existing one. Check the details, add a photo or description if you like, and save — the item is created and mapped in one step.

A CREATED ITEM IS NOT ON A MENU YET
The new item exists and is mapped, but it is not listed on any of your menus. Incoming orders for it attribute correctly; customers will not see it on a website or portal until you add it to a menu. Add it, or leave it off if it is a platform-only product.

Working efficiently

  • Set Reach to All locations first. Those are your brand-wide products; mapping them covers most of your order volume in a few dozen clicks.
  • Set Status to Not mapped to hide what is done.
  • 1 location only products are usually a franchisee's own additions. Map them if they matter for reporting; many are one-off specials that do not.
  • Use Import spreadsheet to load platform products the mirror has not seen yet, so they can be mapped ahead of time. They show as Imported until the platform lists them on a real menu.
