News and articles: what the Blog module is
Where your website's articles are written, how one article reaches every tribe's site, and how it relates to the pages on the website itself.

Select Blog in the left-hand menu. This is where the articles on your websites are written — news, case studies, advice pieces, announcements. They are kept apart from website pages because they behave differently: a page is part of the structure of a site and changes rarely, while an article is dated, listed newest first, and there will eventually be hundreds of them.
The reason a franchise network wants this in one place is that one well-written article is worth publishing on every tribe's site. Written once at head office, it can be copied out to the tribes rather than each of them writing their own, which in practice means each of them writing nothing.
What is on the screens

Where an article appears
An article belongs either to the organisation or to a tribe, and it appears on that site's blog. The address it sits at comes from the Blog Post Url in Article Settings — set it once, before you publish anything, because changing it later moves every article you have already published and breaks whatever links to them.
The Blog Template and Website Page Template decide what an article looks like. They are part of your website's design rather than something to change per article.
Categories
Article Categories group articles on the site so a visitor can find more of what they were reading. Add them under Article Settings. Keep the list short — categories only help while a reader can take them all in at once.
