Sending something physical, and asking a question, from inside a workflow.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Not every automated touch is a message on a screen. A workflow can also send something printed, or ask the customer a question.

Print steps

A print step uses one of your print templates. It is the most expensive thing a workflow can do and, used at the right moment, often the most effective — a physical card after a large purchase stands out precisely because nobody else sends one.

  • Reserve it for high-value moments; the economics do not work on a broad audience.
  • Check the address data is good before automating anything posted.
  • Allow for the lead time — a print step is not instant, so put it early in a sequence.

Survey steps

A survey step sends one of your active surveys. The classic use is after a job completes — wait a few days, ask how it went, and act on the answers.

If the step tells you there are no active surveys, one needs creating and activating first.

ASK ONCE, AND ONLY IF YOU WILL READ IT
A survey nobody reads teaches customers that answering you is pointless, and the next one gets fewer responses. Set "enroll once" so the same customer is not surveyed after every single job.
