Recruitment Basics
Creating a job posting
Roles, the two-step create flow, and the dates that decide whether anybody can see the job.

Start with a role
A Role holds the reusable description of a job — the summary, what the role involves, the benefits, the skills and experience. Build it once under Roles and every posting for that job starts from it.
Creating is two steps
The New Job Posting form ends with Next, not Save. It creates the posting and drops you on the edit page, where the descriptive text and the status become editable. The job is not finished until you have been through the second screen.
Who owns it
The Tribe field decides. Leaving it on Organisation Role makes it an organisation-wide job; picking a tribe puts it in that tribe's list too. A tribe user creating a posting always gets their own tribe, and a posting can never be moved to a different tribe afterwards.
The dates decide visibility
The publish date starts at the beginning of that day and the close date runs to the end of it, in your organisation's timezone. A job closing today stays open until midnight tonight.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being written. Not on the careers site. |
| Active | Live — if the dates allow it. |
| Paused | Temporarily off. |
| Closed | Finished. Also shown automatically once the close date passes. |
Nothing changes a posting's status automatically — the Closed label appears on its own once the date passes, but the stored status stays as you left it. Note that the organisation list's status filter does not offer Paused, so paused jobs are only findable with the filter cleared.
Locations
Search and add the places the job is based. The first one is always the primary, taken from its position in the list, so drag the main location to the top. There is also a remote flag for roles open to remote applicants.
Deleting a posting
The confirmation warns it is permanent, and for practical purposes it is — there is no restore. The applicants are not deleted; they stay in your Resumes list. Closing a job you have filled is almost always better than deleting it.
