Setting Up the Store
Getting people to the store
The store address, putting it on the client's own domain, and the QR code for print.

A store nobody can find sells nothing. Every branded store has a web address, and two ways to make it easier to reach.
Its own domain
A store can be put on the client's own domain — something like shop.theirschool.com — instead of the default address. It looks like their shop, which matters for trust when people are being asked to enter card details.
It needs a DNS record adding by whoever runs the client's domain, so allow a day or two and ask early. It is the sort of request that sits in an IT queue if you leave it until launch week.
The QR code
Every store has a QR code you can download and put on anything printed — a letter home, a noticeboard, a poster in reception, the back of an order form. It is the most reliable way to get people from paper to the shop.
Launching well
- Give the client the link and the QR code together.
- Ask them to send it with a sentence about what it is and the deadline — a link with no explanation gets ignored.
- If access needs a code, put the code in the same message. Nothing generates more support than a shop that will not let people in.
- Check the link works from a phone that has never signed in.
