Sales on a company profile
Where the sales on an account come from, what the Sales tab shows, and why a customer can look like they have never bought anything.
Last updated September 2, 2026
The Sales tab on a company shows what the account has actually bought — real orders and quotes from your point of sale, not deals a rep hopes to win. It is the difference between an account that looks promising and one that pays.
Where the figures come from
Sales arrive from whichever system records them for your business and are matched to the account. Nobody types them into the CRM — which is why they can be trusted, and why they cannot be edited here.
Why an account can look empty
| Symptom | Usual cause |
|---|---|
| A known customer shows no sales | The sales are attached to a different company record — often a duplicate created by a slightly different name. |
| Sales stop at a date | The connection to the sales system stopped importing. Check with whoever manages the integration. |
| Sales are there but not on any deal | Sales linking is off, or set to manual and nobody has linked them. |
Linking sales to the deals that won them
With sales linking switched on, a sale can be tied to the opportunity it came from — which is what lets you report on whether the pipeline is turning into revenue rather than just growing.
