How to log in, reset your password, and resolve account lockouts
This article covers the full login process for Gorilla Dash — including your first-time activation, resetting a forgotten password, troubleshooting MFA issues, and what to do if your account gets locked out.
First-time login: activating your account
When your account is created, Gorilla Dash sends an activation email to the address your administrator registered. You must complete activation before you can log in for the first time.
- Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for an email from support@gorilladash.com with the subject "Activate your Gorilla Dash account".
- Click the activation link inside the email. This link expires after 24 hours.
- Set your password on the screen that opens, then click Save.
- You will be redirected to the Gorilla Dash login page. Enter your email and new password to sign in.
📝 Note: If you do not receive the activation email within 10 minutes, ask your platform administrator or contact support@gorilladash.com to resend it.
Logging in
- Go to your brand's Gorilla Dash login URL (provided by your administrator).
- Enter your registered email address and password.
- If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled, you will be prompted to enter a one-time code from your authenticator app.
- Click Sign In.
💡 Tip: Use a password manager to avoid lockouts from mistyped credentials.
Can't sign in?
- If you see the message "Your account has been locked due to too many failed login attempts," contact support to unlock your account.
- If you forgot your password, select Forgot Password on the sign-in page to reset it.
- If two-factor authentication (2FA) is preventing you from logging in (for example, you no longer have your 2FA codes or device), contact your organization’s support team or a Gorilla Dash admin to reset 2FA on your account; you can also email support@gorilladash.com.
Resetting a forgotten password
- On the login page, click Forgot Password.
- Enter your registered email address and click Send Reset Link.
- Check your inbox for a reset email from support@gorilladash.com.
- Click the link in the email and set a new password.
- Return to the login page and sign in with your new password.
📝 Note: If the password reset page says "You must complete the steps in your activation email," your account has not been activated yet. Contact support to have the original activation email resent.
What to do if your account is locked
Accounts are temporarily locked (not blocked) after multiple failed login attempts. If you are locked out:
- If you see the message "Your account has been locked due to too many failed login attempts," contact Gorilla Dash Support to unlock your account.
- Wait 15 minutes and try again — the lockout may clear automatically.
- Contact Gorilla Dash Support at support@gorilladash.com to request an unlock. Include the affected user’s email address. Franchise/tribe admins cannot unlock users.
MFA / QR code issues
If you did not receive or cannot scan the MFA QR code during setup:
- Ask your administrator to reset your MFA enrollment from the user management screen.
- If you can’t access your account because you no longer have your 2FA codes or device, contact your organization’s support team or a Gorilla Dash admin and ask them to reset 2FA on your account.
- Once reset, log in with your password — you will be prompted to set up MFA again and a new QR code will be displayed. Set up 2FA using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator.
- If two-factor authentication (2FA) is preventing you from logging in, contact support@gorilladash.com so we can reset 2FA on your account.
Locked out because your two-factor code isn’t accepted
If you can’t get past the two-factor (2FA) step, first confirm you’re using the code from the correct entry in your authenticator.
- In Google Authenticator, use the 6-digit code labeled Gorilla Dash.
- On iPhone, also check the built-in Passwords app to confirm you have an entry labeled Gorilla Dash.
If you still can’t sign in, contact Support. We can unlock your account and, if needed, reset your two-factor authentication so you can set it up again.
