Nautical Bowls, the fast-growing U.S.-based acai superfood chain, is setting its sights on major growth in the Australian market with the addition of seasoned executive Peter Rodwell. Known for his leadership at McDonald’s, where he served as president across Asia, the Middle East, and other key regions, Rodwell brings a wealth of franchise and operational expertise that will help accelerate the brand’s expansion goals.
Rodwell joins the brand’s Australian team as a strategic partner, working alongside area developer Dean Lightfoot. Together, they plan to open more than 20 Nautical Bowls stores across the country by the end of 2025. Rodwell’s involvement will support multiple aspects of business growth, including capital raising, operational refinement, and long-term brand positioning.
The timing aligns with a rising consumer demand for clean, nutritious, fast-casual dining. Nautical Bowls has built its reputation on high-quality, made-from-scratch acai bowls and local sourcing practices, including granola from a Western Australian oat farm. The brand's health-forward mission resonates strongly in a market increasingly focused on wellness and sustainability.
Since entering the Australian market in December 2023, Nautical Bowls has quickly gained traction. With Rodwell’s track record in scaling franchise systems and his focus on profitability and customer experience, the company is well-positioned to carve out a strong foothold in the growing health food segment.
