Plan Burrito has opened its newest restaurant in Lincoln, bringing the Tex-Mex brand's menu of freshly prepared burritos, tacos, quesadillas, loaded nachos and burrito bowls to the city for the first time. The new location, at 28 The Strait, marks another step in the brand's ongoing UK expansion and adds to a growing list of franchise openings across the country.
The Lincoln store is owned and operated by Kieran Howe, Plan Burrito's youngest franchisee at 21 years old. Howe first expressed interest in the brand in 2023, shortly after finishing college, and joined the team at Plan Burrito's Loughborough head office store to learn the business from the ground up. Over the following two years, he worked alongside founder Steve Hopper while helping with store openings in Guildford, Shrewsbury, Canterbury, Southend-on-Sea and Gillingham, gaining hands-on experience in staff training and day-to-day operations before taking on his own site.
Howe said the experience of working across multiple openings gave him a clear view of what makes the brand work, and that he saw an opportunity in Lincoln for fresh, high-quality Tex-Mex food that did not compromise on flavor. He is pursuing the opening while also recently becoming a new father, a milestone he has said adds extra motivation to build a business that can support his family. His longer-term goal is to grow into a multi-unit operator with the brand.
Steve Hopper, founder of Plan Burrito, said the Lincoln opening continues the company's focus on great food and restaurants that become part of their local communities. Simon Robinson, the brand's managing director, added that Lincoln's thriving business community and appetite for quickly served, freshly prepared food made it a strong fit for the concept.
To mark the opening, Plan Burrito is running launch offers, giveaways and promotional events throughout the opening period, with details shared through the brand's social media channels. Coordinating that kind of promotional push across a growing number of locations takes an organized system behind the scenes. Gorilla Dash offers a Competitions and Promotions feature designed to help franchises plan, launch and track offers like these, keeping campaigns consistent as new stores open across the country.
The Lincoln opening adds to Plan Burrito's reputation as one of the UK's fastest-growing Tex-Mex brands, with further locations planned nationwide as the company continues welcoming new franchisees from a range of backgrounds.
