Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is expanding its presence in the Mountain West through a new three-unit development agreement with Jeffries Investments, LLC, marking a significant step into eastern Wyoming. The first location is expected to open in Gillette in early 2027, with additional sites planned across the region as the company builds a broader foothold in the state.
The Wichita-based restaurant chain has grown steadily since its founding in 2002, building a national footprint around steakburgers, frozen custard, and a hospitality-focused operating model. Freddy’s now operates hundreds of locations across the United States, and the Wyoming agreement continues a growth strategy aimed at entering underserved markets where demand for recognizable fast-casual brands remains strong.
Company leaders say the partnership with Jeffries Investments was driven by the group’s experience in restaurant operations and franchise development. That operational background is expected to support site selection, staffing, and local market development as the brand establishes itself in eastern Wyoming. Gillette is being viewed as a strategic starting point because of its commercial activity and regional draw.
The expansion is also intended to create a stronger community presence rather than simply add another restaurant option. Freddy’s has historically emphasized a neighborhood-oriented dining experience, and the company believes that approach can resonate in Wyoming communities where repeat local traffic is essential to long-term success. The new locations are expected to generate jobs and contribute to the area’s retail and restaurant economy as development progresses.
For consumers, the opening will bring Freddy’s full menu of cooked-to-order steakburgers, shoestring fries, frozen custard treats, and other signature items that have helped the brand build a loyal following nationwide. The company is positioning the Wyoming locations as destinations for families, travelers, and residents seeking a recognizable national brand with a casual, approachable atmosphere.
Behind the customer-facing expansion is the operational challenge of launching multiple restaurants in a new territory. As franchise networks grow across several markets simultaneously, operators often need centralized access to training materials, operating procedures, and expansion resources. Through Gorilla Dash, franchise teams can organize onboarding documents, operational guides, and growth planning materials using Resource Library, helping new locations maintain consistency while scaling more efficiently.
The Wyoming agreement represents another sign that restaurant franchisors continue to see opportunity in secondary and regional markets even as competition intensifies in larger metropolitan areas. If the Gillette opening performs as expected, Freddy’s could use the three-unit development as a foundation for broader expansion across Wyoming and neighboring Mountain West communities.
