Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is expanding its Southern footprint with a 10-unit franchise agreement involving ELJ Investments, an experienced multi-unit, multi-brand restaurant operator. The deal will add locations across Georgia and South Carolina, strengthening Freddy’s presence in the region as the brand continues its broader U.S. franchise expansion.
ELJ Investments brings more than 20 years of experience in restaurant operations and acquisitions to the agreement. The company will acquire six existing Freddy’s restaurants while continuing to grow the brand across Augusta, Georgia, and Columbia, South Carolina, creating a larger operating base in both markets.
The agreement also reflects Freddy’s focus on experienced operators as it expands. Andrew Thengvall, chief development officer of Freddy’s, cited ELJ Investments’ operational expertise, entrepreneurial approach and commitment to restaurant excellence as important strengths for growing the brand across Georgia and South Carolina.
Founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002, Freddy’s has built its concept around cooked-to-order steakburgers, shoestring fries and freshly churned frozen custard. The company now operates more than 580 locations and continues to seek single-unit and multi-unit franchisees across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
