Caremark has been named Community Builder of the Year at the recent Elite Franchise Top 100 Awards, recognising its exceptional contribution to local communities across the UK. The home care franchisor received the accolade at the ceremony on March 12 in London, where it stood out against well‑known competitors including Home Instead and Anytime Fitness. Judges were impressed by the breadth and depth of the brand’s community initiatives.
Central to Caremark’s award win was the Care for a Wish campaign, launched as part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The programme granted 20 life‑enhancing wishes to people receiving care, each worth up to £1,000. These included memorable experiences such as tribute parties and garden transformations tailored for accessibility. Judges noted the heartfelt impact these moments had on recipients and their families.
The franchisor’s 20 Acts of Community Care campaign also drew praise from the judges. This initiative saw franchise offices across the network undertake 20 acts of kindness in their local communities. Activities ranged from partnerships with schools to food bank drives, volunteering days and wellbeing events. Another highlight was the fundraising efforts by 16 members of Caremark’s head office team who completed a 20‑kilometre charity run in support of Care for Veterans, a charity aiding former service personnel.
Beyond these headline programmes, judges recognised the consistent community engagement carried out by franchise owners throughout the year, such as regular coffee mornings, memory cafés and local fundraisers. These everyday acts of support reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to embedding itself as a positive force in communities.
Joint CEO David Glover reflected on the win with pride, saying that community has always been at the heart of Caremark’s work. He emphasised that the award belongs to everyone in the network whose everyday work contributes to meaningful moments and deeper connections with the people they serve.
