Twisted Egg Shack is setting its sights on a substantial Texas expansion through an exclusive area development agreement with 1836 Brands. Led by Joey Eguia and Collins Orr, the group plans to develop more than 60 locations across the state, beginning with the League City and Cypress trade areas in the Houston market. The agreement represents one of the largest development commitments in the breakfast brand’s growth to date.
Eguia brings three decades of restaurant leadership experience to the venture, while Orr contributes expertise in marketing and real estate. Together, the partners see an opportunity to establish Twisted Egg Shack in a competitive breakfast and lunch market while drawing on their existing industry relationships and knowledge of Texas. Their initial focus on the Houston area is expected to provide the foundation for a broader rollout across the state.
The development agreement also reflects Twisted Egg Shack’s efforts to build its franchise network with experienced operators. Co-founders Chris Milton and Clay Carson identified the 1836 Brands team as a strong fit for the brand’s Texas strategy, citing the group’s combination of restaurant, marketing and real estate experience. For the franchise system, securing capable development partners will be important as the concept moves from its initial markets into a much larger territory.
Managing that kind of geographic growth can also require greater coordination between franchise teams, particularly as new locations enter development and operations. Integrations can help connect business systems and reduce information gaps between locations, while Gorilla Dash provides franchise technology designed to support connected workflows as networks expand. For a brand pursuing dozens of new units in one state, maintaining consistency across those operations can become an increasingly important part of the growth strategy.
For 1836 Brands, the agreement marks a significant commitment to the breakfast segment and to Twisted Egg Shack’s future in Texas. The first locations in League City and Cypress will serve as early indicators of how the concept performs in the market, while the broader development agreement gives the brand a substantial runway for expansion.
