Smokey Mo’s BBQ is giving its Spring Branch restaurant a fresh look, starting with a remodeled drive-thru designed to make visits more convenient. The location at 19851 Texas 46 in Berry Oaks Plaza has been renovated as part of the Texas barbecue brand’s investment in its existing restaurants. It is also the first Smokey Mo’s location to feature a remodeled drive-thru.
The brand will celebrate the update on Friday, November 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will feature $5 Sloppy Mo’s sandwiches, $2 beers, $1 fountain drinks and tea, along with face painting and giveaways. Sales from the celebration will benefit the Smithson Valley High School Band, giving the reopening a community focus beyond the restaurant’s updated facilities.
For Smokey Mo’s, the project reflects the importance of maintaining and improving established locations alongside new restaurant development. CEO Craig Haley emphasized that commitment, saying, “Investing in our existing locations is just as important as opening new restaurants. Spring Branch is a great example of that commitment.” The remodeled drive-thru is intended to improve convenience while preserving the experience customers associate with the brand.
The renovation also comes ahead of the Thanksgiving season, when Smokey Mo’s will offer its Heat & Serve holiday selections, including smoked turkey and other meal options. The menu features barbecue staples such as brisket, pulled pork and sausage, along with sides, desserts and breakfast offerings. The seasonal products give customers another reason to visit as the restaurant enters one of the busiest periods of the year for holiday meals.
The Spring Branch project is part of a broader modernization effort that includes a redesigned website, PAR Online Ordering and updated PAR point-of-sale systems. The company has also appointed Von Dawson as Vice President of Franchise Development, adding to its focus on franchise growth. As restaurant operators balance renovations, seasonal campaigns and community events, organized scheduling becomes increasingly important. The Event Calendar feature available through Gorilla Dash provides a way to coordinate activities across franchise locations, helping operators keep promotional plans and local events organized.
