Slim Chickens has expanded its presence in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a restaurant near 84th and Adams streets in the northeast part of the city. The opening adds another location for the fast-casual chicken brand and extends the reach of local franchisees Bill and Stacie Hooks, who operate through Mid-West Slims. The new restaurant responds to years of interest from residents seeking a location closer to home.
The Hooks have built their business in Lincoln through a growing network of restaurants serving hand-breaded chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, wraps, salads and other menu favorites. The brand also offers chicken and waffles, Southern-style sides and desserts served in jars. Its “Whatcha Pickin’?” positioning emphasizes menu variety, supported by 14 signature dipping sauces and options designed for different dining occasions.
Bill Hooks said local customers had repeatedly asked for a Slim Chickens restaurant on the north side of Lincoln. The new location gives the franchise group an opportunity to reach those customers while building on the relationships established at its existing restaurants. The expansion also reflects the importance of local market knowledge when franchisees assess where additional locations may be viable.
Matt Green, Chief Development Officer at Slim Chickens, said the decision by existing franchisees to open additional restaurants reflects their confidence in the brand and the opportunities they see in their markets. He noted that the Hooks understand Lincoln and continue to identify areas where the company can reach more guests. For the franchisor, supporting experienced multi-unit operators remains an important part of its development strategy.
As Slim Chickens expands, maintaining customer relationships across locations becomes increasingly important. The CRM Integrations feature available through Gorilla Dash can help franchise businesses connect customer information across systems and coordinate relationship management as their networks grow. This is a general application of the feature, not an indication that Slim Chickens uses the platform. With more than 300 locations worldwide, the brand continues to pursue growth while relying on franchise partners who understand their local communities and can deliver a consistent guest experience.
