Visiting Angels West Leicestershire has received an “Outstanding” rating across all five inspection categories from the Care Quality Commission, achieving one of the strongest inspection results in the UK home care sector. The rating came during the service’s first CQC inspection, just two years after the franchise opened in Hinckley.
The CQC awarded the service its highest grade for being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. Among more than 14,000 home care providers in England, only a small number have achieved an Outstanding rating in every category, placing the West Leicestershire operation in a notably selective group.
Inspectors highlighted personalized care, compassionate leadership, and strong governance as key strengths. The report also noted effective collaboration with healthcare professionals and a culture in which carers felt supported and valued while clients remained connected to their communities.
The franchise is led by Jade Thumwood, who credited the result to consistent teamwork, structured support, and a long-term commitment to relationship-based care. Deputy Director Greg Rielly described the service as exceptional rather than merely compliant, emphasizing the quality of both leadership and day-to-day care delivery.
The result is also significant for the wider Visiting Angels network, which has expanded across the UK through a franchise model focused on local ownership and community engagement. Strong inspection outcomes can influence referral relationships, recruitment, and public trust, making quality assurance a critical element of franchise growth in the care sector.
As care franchises scale, protecting service standards becomes increasingly important. Through Gorilla Dash, operators can strengthen Reputation Management by monitoring feedback, maintaining consistent communication, and supporting service quality initiatives across multiple locations, helping growing care businesses preserve trust while expanding their local presence.
