Starbird is turning up the flavor with a new Honey Chili Crisp lineup that adds a sweet-and-spicy spin to its signature crispy chicken. Available beginning September 29 for a limited time, the five-item menu combines chili crisp with honey, ginger and the brand’s Nashville Spice, extending the flavor across several categories. The launch is part of Starbird’s ongoing limited-time menu program, which gives customers new options alongside its core offerings.
The lineup includes Honey Chili Crisp Tenders topped with green onion, cilantro and sesame seeds and served with ginger aioli and additional honey chili crisp. The Honey Chili Crisp Sandwich pairs a crispy chicken fillet with honey chili crisp, ginger aioli, cucumber, shredded lettuce, cabbage, sesame seeds, green onion and cilantro on a toasted brioche bun. Together, the two offerings bring the new flavor profile to Starbird’s tender and sandwich formats.
Starbird is also extending the concept beyond traditional chicken combinations. The Honey Crunch Salad combines crispy chicken with romaine, cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, cucumbers and edamame, while the Honey Crunch Wrap places similar ingredients inside a grilled flour tortilla. Rounding out the launch are Honey Chili Crisp Wings, served with green onion, cilantro, sesame seeds, ginger aioli and additional honey chili crisp.
The menu reflects Starbird’s broader approach to culinary innovation, with the company describing the flavor as a combination of sweet heat, crunch and savory notes. Chief Executive Officer Greg Levin said the brand looks for emerging flavors and culinary trends that can be given a distinctive Starbird treatment. The San Francisco-based company currently operates 20 locations and continues to expand into new communities.
Limited-time menu launches can also serve as structured promotional campaigns for franchise businesses, particularly when several offerings are introduced under one theme. Gorilla Dash offers a Competitions and Promotions feature that can help franchise organizations coordinate promotional initiatives and customer engagement efforts around campaigns with defined launch periods.
For Starbird, Honey Chili Crisp adds another seasonal chapter to a menu strategy built around variety and culinary experimentation. With five offerings spanning tenders, wings, sandwiches, salads and wraps, the launch gives customers multiple ways to experience the same flavor concept while reinforcing the brand’s emphasis on chef-driven menu development. Availability and pricing may vary by location.
