Smalls Sliders is set to open its second Ohio location in New Boston on October 22, extending the fast-casual brand’s presence in the state. The restaurant will operate from the company’s signature 750-square-foot, Smorange-colored shipping container, known as a “Can,” serving cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders, seasoned waffle fries and milkshakes. The opening follows the brand’s Ohio debut in South Point earlier this year.
The New Boston location is part of a multi-unit development agreement calling for more than five Smalls Sliders restaurants in the region. The project is led by brothers Beckett and Sam Gue, who also operate several Guthrie’s Chicken locations locally. Their existing restaurant experience gives the group a foundation for managing additional locations as the Smalls Sliders network grows.
The brothers bring different backgrounds to the venture. Sam Gue spent much of his career in education, including serving as superintendent of the South Point Local School District, before moving into restaurant operations. Beckett Gue has experience in entrepreneurship and franchising, including previous ownership of GoFan, a digital ticketing platform for high school athletics, and multi-unit operations with Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers and Guthrie’s Chicken.
Founded by restaurateur Brandon Landry, Smalls Sliders has built its concept around a focused menu and a compact restaurant format designed for streamlined service. The brand is backed by 10 Point Capital and former NFL quarterback Drew Brees as investors. Its container-based model gives the company a distinctive visual identity while supporting a repeatable format for franchise development.
As the network expands, franchise organizations need practical ways to manage interest from prospective operators and coordinate development activity. The Recruitment feature available through Gorilla Dash can help organize franchise candidate inquiries and support follow-up during the development process. For Smalls Sliders, the New Boston opening represents another step in its Ohio expansion, with the broader development agreement setting the stage for additional locations across the region.
