Marco’s Pizza is bringing back its Margherita Magnifico for a limited time, putting a simple combination of fresh ingredients back in the spotlight. Available beginning September 30 for $12.99, the large pizza features thick slices of fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes sliced in-store and Marco’s signature basil drizzle. It is available at participating locations nationwide while supplies last.
Chef Kathleen Kennedy, Marco’s director of culinary innovation, developed the pizza around the idea that a limited number of ingredients can make a strong impression when each one is selected with care. The pizza starts with Marco’s dough, prepared daily, and combines its signature sauce with a three-cheese blend, fresh mozzarella and Roma tomatoes before receiving the basil drizzle.
The finishing touches include a garlic sauce crust and Romesan seasoning, giving the Margherita Magnifico a distinct profile while retaining the straightforward character of a classic Margherita. Kennedy said the culinary team tested more than 20 recipes before settling on the final version, with the basil drizzle becoming one of the defining elements of the offering.
The return also reflects Marco’s broader approach to menu innovation across its franchise system. The Toledo, Ohio-based pizza company operates more than 1,200 stores across 35 states, as well as locations in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Mexico. Limited-time offerings give the brand another avenue for introducing new flavors while maintaining a menu that can be executed consistently across its network.
For franchise organizations coordinating limited-time menu campaigns across multiple restaurants, Gorilla Dash offers a Competitions and Promotions feature that can help organize promotional initiatives and customer engagement efforts. A structured approach to campaign management can be particularly useful when a menu launch needs to be communicated and executed consistently across a growing franchise network.
