McDonald’s Australia has opened a new restaurant at 31 Willoughby Road in Crows Nest, New South Wales, marking an investment of more than $5 million and creating over 80 local jobs. The opening adds another location to the company’s North Shore network and is operated by local licensee Bernard Kelly, whose career with the brand began nearly three decades ago as a crew member.

The restaurant will celebrate its arrival with a grand-opening event on November 20, featuring an appearance by Ronald McDonald, along with cakes and balloons for visitors. The new location is designed to serve customers looking for familiar McDonald’s menu items in a modern dining environment. Its opening also brings employment opportunities across crew, barista, management and maintenance positions.

Kelly now operates seven McDonald’s restaurants across Sydney’s North Shore, employing more than 700 people. His portfolio includes locations at Victoria Cross, Gordon, North Ryde, Chatswood Interchange, Chatswood Concourse, St Leonards and Crows Nest. The addition reflects a career progression from an entry-level restaurant role to managing a substantial multi-unit operation.

“We’re excited to have opened the doors to Macca’s Crows Nest and to be creating more than 80 new jobs, along with training and development opportunities for people in the local community,” Kelly said. The company has also highlighted the restaurant’s role in supporting local causes and community groups, including those connected with Ronald McDonald House.

As Kelly’s restaurant network grows, overseeing financial performance across multiple locations becomes an increasingly important part of franchise management. The Financial Reporting feature available through Gorilla Dash provides a way to organize financial information and monitor business performance across a franchise operation. McDonald’s Crows Nest opening offers a local example of how an individual franchisee’s career and business portfolio can develop over time.
