Konala has taken a significant step in its East Coast expansion with the selection of its first New Jersey location, a drive-thru site at 11 Franklin Avenue in Belleville. The address sits within a busy commercial corridor that is surrounded by national brands, creating a strong foundation for the healthy fast-casual chain’s introduction to the region.
Franchisee Anthony Menicola, a fitness-focused entrepreneur and father of four, said the Belleville site matches his vision for offering nutritious food with speed and convenience. His plans extend far beyond this initial store. He intends to develop at least ten Konala locations across New Jersey over the next five years, a strategy shaped by his background in both wellness and business operations.
Konala founder Trace Miller said Menicola brings a strong understanding of the company’s mission and the practical experience needed to execute an ambitious rollout in a competitive market. Miller believes the Belleville opening has the potential to set a clear standard for future development across the state, particularly as more consumers look for fast options that support healthier lifestyles.
Konala, known for its protein-forward bowls and entirely gluten-free menu, has gained traction for combining nutritious meals with a drive-thru format more commonly associated with traditional fast food. The Belleville location represents more than a new market for the brand. It reflects a broader shift toward convenient dining that does not require compromising on quality or wellness, a trend that continues to influence the national franchise landscape.
