Speedy Foods LLC has entered into a 25-unit development agreement with Konala, signaling a strong vote of confidence in the fast-growing, health-focused restaurant brand. The deal calls for 10 locations in Northern Utah and 15 across the greater Boise Idaho region, marking a significant expansion that reflects the rising demand for convenient, better-for-you dining options in the quick service sector.
Speedy Foods selected Konala for its efficient operating model and its emphasis on protein-forward, customizable meals that meet the needs of today’s on-the-go consumers. A company representative said the brand aligns closely with where the restaurant industry is headed, particularly as customers increasingly seek cleaner ingredients and streamlined service formats that maintain both quality and speed.
Konala’s concept centers on a simplified kitchen design that eliminates traditional fryers, flattops, and grills. This approach allows for faster service, reduced labor demands, and more consistent food preparation across locations. Each menu item is designed to deliver meaningful protein content, making the brand appealing to customers who prioritize nutrition without sacrificing convenience.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Trace Miller noted that the company’s recent growth has been driven by experienced operators who recognize shifting consumer preferences. He said the partnership with Speedy Foods reflects a shared belief that accessible, protein-focused dining can thrive in drive-thru environments while maintaining strong operational performance.
As Konala prepares to establish a deeper presence in Utah and Idaho, the agreement underscores a broader trend within franchising toward concepts that blend efficiency with health-conscious menus. The expansion positions Konala to capture a growing audience seeking fast meals that support modern wellness lifestyles while offering franchisees a scalable and cost-effective model.
