Heart to Home Meals has signed its first Texas franchise agreement, bringing the senior-focused meal delivery brand to Dallas-Fort Worth by the end of September. It's the company's third new U.S. market in under 60 days, following August openings in Durham, North Carolina, and Somerset, New Jersey, and once open, it will be the first location in the state to deliver the brand's chef-prepared, medically aligned meals, serving seniors in the southwest corner of the metro.
The timing tracks a demographic shift that's hard to ignore. Texas's 65-and-older population grew 3.8 percent between 2023 and 2024 alone, faster than any other age group in the state, with 5.2 million baby boomers set to turn 65 by 2030. Dallas-Fort Worth is moving even faster: its senior population grew 15 percent between 2020 and 2023, nearly double the 9.4 percent national growth rate for that age group over the same stretch, even as the metro remains one of the fastest-growing in the country overall.
Growth alone doesn't tell the whole story. Roughly 120,000 adults 60 and older in Dallas-Fort Worth face hunger, up from 97,000 just a few years earlier, and the region ranks third nationally for senior food insecurity as Texas leads the country in hunger overall. Chris Webb, President of Heart to Home Meals USA, said Texas has been on the company's radar since it began franchising, calling Dallas-Fort Worth exactly the kind of market the brand has been looking for, not just because of the size of its senior population but because of how quickly it's growing and how actively local families are searching for trusted in-home support.
Richard Peroe, Senior Director of Franchise Development, framed the deal as more than a single territory win. He said the Dallas-Fort Worth franchise gives the brand a foothold in one of the country's largest and fastest-growing senior markets, and pointed to the pace of expansion itself, three new markets in under two months, as a sign that demand for the model isn't slowing down.
The Dallas-Fort Worth territory also lands as one of Heart to Home Meals' first 10 U.S. franchisees, qualifying for the brand's founding franchise incentive, where the $40,000 franchise fee is reinvested directly into local marketing to support the launch. Deciding where to open next, weighing one metro's senior growth rate and food insecurity numbers against another's, is exactly the kind of comparison a fast-expanding franchise has to make repeatedly.
