Gold's Gym is expanding its Southern California footprint through a 15-unit franchise development agreement with Roknipour Investment Group. The partnership will bring future Gold's Gym locations to Los Angeles and Orange County, creating a new development pipeline in the region where the fitness brand was founded more than six decades ago.
Roknipour Investment Group brings experience in property development, management and multi-unit franchising in the Los Angeles market. The group was selected to develop the new locations as Gold's Gym looks to grow through franchise partnerships. Specific sites and opening dates for the 15 gyms have not yet been announced.
The agreement carries particular significance for Gold's Gym because Southern California remains closely connected to the brand's history. Founded in Venice Beach in 1965, the company continues to operate its iconic Venice location. Matt Roknipour, owner and CEO of Roknipour Investment Group, said the partnership represents an opportunity to bring Gold's Gym facilities to more Southern California communities.
For a franchise network adding locations across multiple markets, maintaining visibility into individual unit performance becomes increasingly important. Gorilla Dash offers a Benchmarking feature that can help franchise organizations compare location-level results and identify performance trends across their networks. That type of reporting can provide additional context as operators manage an expanding portfolio.
The new agreement gives Gold's Gym another route for growth in its home region while adding an experienced local development partner to its franchise network. With more than 500 locations worldwide, according to the company, the brand is continuing to pursue expansion while maintaining a connection to the Southern California market that shaped its identity.
